Romance, mystery and magic, with a touch of spine-tingling suspense …

UP FOR TWO MAJOR AUTHOR AWARDS

Posted: April 2026

Adrienne is celebrating the news that her work has been shortlisted for two international author awards.

Firstly, Adrienne was told that her novel − Mystery of the Midnight Madonna − had been shortlisted in the Historical Novel Society’s (HNS) ‘First Chapter’ Award; an annual international award, that this year had a record 650 books from 22 countries entered.

Then this announcement was quickly followed by news that her latest book − Legacy of Secrets – described as ‘an enchanting dual timeline story with a magical twist’ − is a finalist in the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s ‘Romantic Novel of the Year Award’ – also a record year, with over 500 books entered.

“I’m still pinching myself,” said Adrienne – who has written eight books to date. “It’s a real honour to be a finalist in either of these awards, but to be shortlisted in both is fantastic, especially in the company of so many incredible authors. I’m thrilled.”

Both the HNS and the RNA will announce the winners next month, with an awards ceremony taking place in Maynooth, Ireland in August at the HNS annual conference. The RNA will celebrate their awards at a ceremony in London in May.

“These nominations have ignited an exciting new phase in my author career. Mystery of the Midnight Madonna is my first historical novel, and the HNS shortlisting has given me the confidence to continue to develop my work in this area. While Legacy of Secrets is a romance featuring a time-slip element, another genre I find fascinating. I’m going to be busy!”
